there are many things great about having to work with people ages older than you. and yup. i did mention about this granddad in my work place.he is more than 7 decades old and he is still around to help us answer phonecalls, open up and post letters, and manage the tuesday mps crowd. and he is such a darling. i learnt loads from him...than i wud from any professor.there is much to be said about big things that come in small sizes. this granddad...he teaches me alot about life. he always asks me questions. and seriously..the questions were all so simply stated...but hey... the answers are complex. and the meanings are fathomless. take a look at this...1) "Atuk...kenape atuk termenung?" -- "Atuk tengah fikir...laut yang masin ni....siapa yang masinkan?"and you know...he tells me...2) "Nikmat tu kadang2 datang secara kecil-kecilan. kalau makan satu pinggan nasi...nikmat makan tu bukan pada betapa tingginya nasi. Nikmat makan tu akan terletak pada butir-butir nasi yang terakhir...yang terlekat di jari-jemari..."dont you think that is deep? i think it is. there is another one. this was actually directed to my boss.3) "Tuan semuanya ade. ade isteri. ade anak-anak. ade pangkat. ade harta. ade pelajaran. suka menolong orang. tapi satu aje tuan takde." -- "ape yang saya takde, pak haji?" -- "Tuan takde tidur yang mencukupi."true isnt it? a person in the political or corporate or up-there world has everything. except for enough sleep. and hey....sleep is important. and sleep is just so priceless that human beings are incapacitated without sleep. we can always go without sufficient food or water. but not without sleep...and of course. we do talk about marriage. especially after we observe that many MPS cases befall on widows. husbands who merely left their wives to look after more than five kids. pple whose families are hay-wired. and he always tells me4) "kalau awak nak kahwin...cari lelaki yang rajin bekerja...dan yang sayangkan awak...jodoh awak Tuhan dah tentukan. cuma masanya belum tiba." this granddad also shares with me some stuffs. he told me to always share my food. dun be selfish with food. he also told me to leave EVERYTHING to ALLAH SWT. :) tell me. arent these valuable lessons? tts why it feels so hard for me to quit the place. i learnt alot. i feel so low...the more i ask him...the smaller i feel. who am i...and you know. he asks me this. 5) "atuk sekarang dah 70 lebih tahun. nabi wafat pada umur 60 lebih. walaupun atuk hidup lebih lama daripada nabi...atuk bukan sape2...i am nothing."6) "Atuk...kenape atuk senyum2?" -- "sebab nak innalillah..."my heart felt so heavy. he always remind himself of how small he is. and i think...thats something that i need to constantly remind myself of.
