so ure asking me how come i have the time to blog when i kept complaining about sch and work and stuffs and busy-ness? haha! well...the time is always there for us to use. it is a matter of whether we want to use it or not. actually, to me, i think most of the TIME we have, we use it for WAITING. waiting for the bus. waiting for the printouts from the printer. waiting for the world to come to you and not vice versa. a bit sad huh? padahal Allah swt mencipta manusia untuk menjadi khalifah di dunia...anyway, of course i have a lot of work to do. but i just need to share a bit of perspective with people out there reading my blog. lol. i still wonder why you guys still read it though. tak bosan ke? anyway...ridhwan posted it up on nusms yahoogroup and i thought that it is worth sharing. especially this bit here because it affects me directly. well...not exactly but it does affect me anyway. Everyday life, however, often tends to blind us to the inherent blessings that exist in the form of those closest to us. For example, Allah says in the Qur’an (Ar-Rum 30:21) that the love in our hearts for our spouses is from Allah, placed in our hearts as a sign from Him, Al-Wadud (The Ever-Affectionate). The toils of daily life, however, tend to create a veil over our hearts and distract us from seeing the special gift that is our families. Instead, we harp on the negatives, on those things that annoy us, on what was not done the way it should have been, and so on. Moreover, we tend to be blinded to the wonderful variety that each member of the family brings to the whole, the uniqueness in character and personality—the gifts that Allah has placed in each of us.
haha! you see. my dad came up to my room two days ago. and i was sms-ing a friend. and suddenly this father of mine...just hugged and kissed me on the cheek. he said that it had been TWO days since he last talked to me. sigh. i know. my dad worked from 8-6pm each day but nowadays work seems to be piling for him endlessly and he ends up reaching home at 8 or 9plus. u think i was home at that time? well, the term break was not that good. i am always outside having my own stuffs to do, or i am still in school slogging away trying to finish up my essays. and there i reached home at 10 plus...by that time, dad was already asleep, with undying fatigue. i miss my family. work...school...stress of the material world...these are always the worldly things that put my family on the edge of the cliff. mum gets stressed up because she wants to be a good mother and wants to make her children do well in life. my dad gets stressed up because he is retiring in ten years and his 2.8k salary per month is not that sufficient to pay household bills, children's expenditure, future spendings and savings...my family lies in the middle-income range. once my dad loses his job (God forbid), we would immediately plunge into the low-income one. and i know that that is not that safe, especially when we are living in singapore. but what i want to say is this....that no matter what, one should always remember the family that we have at home.yes we have our young goals to achieve. but hey. we do have families at home too. i am deeply guilty of that. deeply guilty of using work as a supposed reason to not ask how my parents are...or how my brothers are...and it has to take my DAD...to PERSONALLY come into my room and ASK how I AM. this is a lesson for me. and for those of you who love your families too...but are too busy.
oh well. i just thought i shud share.
back to my readings.
