if only i can blog in the comfort of my own room instead of the dining room...
but i have things to say today.
firstly,we all know that Suria Channel is currently inundated with moralizing docu-dramas. you can trace this all back to Sayang Mona, then quite some time back we had Bara, then came Anak Metropolitan, then came Hanyut and now Seksa. especially the 2 most current ones which have made a much too intense hype amongst the malay/muslim community. well, i am not going to discuss about how our community is reacting to such wide-spread information. but rather...i would like people to respond in a different way. what makes our children...prone to having sex relations at an age so young?how come they are aware of such 'functions' so early in their lives? matters of sexuality and sex, as adults...what kind of values do we place on them now, in this modern day? is it merely pleasure? and so there is really nothing more to having sex? i dunno. i think it boils down to the childhood times of these children. what kinds of games do these kids play nowadays? do we still see them call down neighbours to play soccer together? or get chalks to draw at the void deck and play hopscotch?or play catching amongst pillars? or fly kites... can we compare these games to Gameboy...or Play Station in which the graphics are so unsuitable for kids below 12 years! and the cartoons! nowadays cartoons are unlike....the usual mickey mouse or power rangers! in cartoons nowadays, lets say...they are like dramas but in cartoon forms! assets were exaggerated. female body parts are accentuated. what else? these kids are exposed to such things at an age so early and without proper understanding. they dun understand this thing called sexuality. and parents are ignorant. or rather, parents themselves do not value such relationships. and therefore...that is why when our children ask 'where babies come from'...we are stunted and cant give the right answers. i do not know where i m getg on with this discussion (seemingly) because i am distracted by chat windows and IVLE course outlines and internet sms. haha! but i do hope that we all STRIVE to give our children the best CHILDHOOD days. let them enjoy the bits of innocence left in their lives. where their minds are not tainted. and their hearts are still as pure. and their intentions still so good. please. we need to protect them.or else their future will be so mixed up and confused. wats with the fatherless children. wats with Oedipus' complex...wats with the parents leaving their children unattended....the cycle will go on guys....lets think about this.
