what is in a name?is there something in a name? is there anything at all in a name?why impose unto lives...labels and names and more labels?boyfriend. girlfriend. attached. single. divorced. separated.married. jilted.do these all matter? why do we attach names and labels and more names to ourselves? to certain conditions of life? to certain events in our lives? to our lives?it is because..with a name...we can legitimize our life. we can OWN things because we place a name on it. we NAME it. it thus belongs to us. we feel safer. we want ownership.we demarcate friendships. we demarcate relationships. we say that he or she belongs to us. we say that he or she is us. we demarcate boundaries upon ourselves. with names. and labels. and names and labels.i do not like all these labels. because they pressurize me. i do not like all these names. because they make me fear. i do not like to own things by naming them. because i fear losing them.the only names i am comfortable with are those like..."ibu"..."abah"..."adik"..."suami"..."isteri"..."kakak"..."abang"... *you get my point*sebab...nama-nama ini adalah...fitrah. a lineage connected by the act of birth from the mother.the consummation of a marriage in the eyes of God.the brothers and sisters with all the same blood.pls.we do away with the names.
