i have been really lazy to blog these couple of days.my friday was packed the whole day. morning was matric fair briefing. do not ask me wat i was doing there. and then i had a nice lunch with fadz. and then i went for a first meeting with an english professor. and later on i had tuition. haha! yeah i know. kinda nothing compared to most of you people's schedules out there. but heck. i need to slack. for the first time in my life *and trust me.*, i am not chasing for money. or busy schedules. or internships. or making sure i use my time so fruitfully. or making sure that i am making myself useful. i do not know if this is a good thing or not, because i am simply calm with my current state of life and mind. which is...usually...not the case. now, i make myself ad-hoc-ly available. if people need me to cover them for work or relief, then i'll be around. i watched dvds. ellen degeneres talk show in the mornings after my jogs. catching up with prison break and ugly betty on channel five. i go to the library to borrow books. my current read is "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. i fetch my bro from school. i am thinking of writing a cerpen and so i am currently thinking of placing it in a Singaporean setting. earning bits and pieces of money here and there. but i'll survive. the only thing i m thinking of spending on is on a pair of nice shoes that i can use for my teaching attachment this coming July. other than that...i am really not looking forward to anything at all except for 16 june. because, apparently something is taking place on that day but yeah. unless that something really happens, i do not think that i am going to even...prepare myself for it. i see how it goes. it kinda feels exciting but...scary at the same time. i hope it will all go well. with or without something. i admit. i am not even looking forward to my 21st birthday. that is how LAID-BACK i am feeling right now. amidst kisses. love songs. playful smiles. that are swirling in everybody's air.anyway, i mentioned that i am helping an english language prof with some research, right? let me just give you all a gist of what i am doing. she is doing some linguistic studies with a graduate student. NOTE: it is MALAY LINGUISTICS STUDIES. and she is a malaysian chinese. and he is a japanese who can speak malay because he took some malay lessons before since he once schooled in malaysia.. or something like that. they are studying the use of the imbuhan "me-". after looking through several examples, i do realize that our usage of 'imbuhan' can be rather problematic because our linguistics and grammatical rules are never precise or accurate enough. for example... compare these two sentences.1) Kontraktor itu membina makmal dalam dua bulan.2) Kontractor itu bina makmal dalam dua bulan.at a glance...whether you use 'membina' or 'bina'...it is still grammatically acceptable right? or is it not?? how about this next set...1) Kontraktor itu sedang menjalankan tugas mereka.2) Kontraktor itu sedang jalankan tugas mereka. are there differences between the set of rules u use for the first pair and for the second?haha! i have no idea.
