HARSH REALITY & beauty|Thursday, June 28, 2007
life has been pretty tiring. working is draining my creative mind. i cant even think of intellectual stuff to blog about anymore. u know, when i am in school, at least.. i can think of clever stuff to talk about ah. social issues. political propaganda. life in general. dunnolah. i think i use to sound smarter and more serious in my blog. and i think...now i hardly talk about serious issues because... i read less papers. and less challenged intellectually. and i am occupied with trying to sort out the welfare cases at work. and too busy to think of the proper way to do things aka proper handing over...proper timeline...proper induction...u get what i mean?and now i need to do video for an event and i realize that i do not have sufficient photos. and...after talking to reeza, and we spoke about her schedule (and i have not received mine yet)...i think we will be busy. even though it is just three-weeks of unpaid 'school experience'. haha! yeah yeah. i know money is not everything. thank God the school is underneath my nose. and i am excited to step foot in there on TUESDAY!anyway right... YES. i finally thought of speaking of something. *haphazard sentence structure*. i was trying to finish reading a book these past few days and i barely got past the first chapter. it is a non-fiction book about Authenticity (written by David Boyle). actually, i hope to finish the book before i write or comment about it but NAH... i dun think i will get to even finish the first chapter anytime soon. so here it goes. according to the author, life is too full of inauthentic things that we are DESPERATELY searching for the REAL. For example, real food=organic foodreal places=mountains, rivers, jungles aka natural landscapesand i was thinking. sometimes right, we have TOO MUCH to the extent of HORRIBLY OVERWHELMING, of Authenticity's presence...that we dun trust our senses and gut feelings anymore. we don't even trust GOODNESS anymore. nowadays, we always hear the phrase... "THE HARSH REALITY". oh my goodness. so...what is not harsh is thus not real? is the world growing too violent and harsh that 'beauty, niceness, softness, tenderness' are all too good to be TRUE or REAL? we meet somebody beautiful and smart and pretty and lovely AND at the same time KIND-HEARTED and SELFLESS... and we say.. "she is just TOO good to be true. she MUST be BAD in some way..." REALITY is also always coined also with the 'harsh' verb... "slapped". so we will always hear or see this phrase.. "REALITY SLAPPED YOU IN THE FACE".... thus making Reality...this disgusting phenomenon that is truly undesirable. so when something Good walks into our path... we become suspicious. we become skeptical. we try to find fault with it. and of course. with all these being said... even simple things like LOVE, becomes a Chore. people are scared to fall in love because.. love (seemingly inevitably) demands utmost commitment...love means children (which can be very costly assets in times to come...or so they say)...love means...marriage (which ends up in divorce)...i think this is horrible. long gone were the days when LOVE is beauty. butterflies and flowers. moon and stars and sun. and bees and birds and passion and first sights. and laugher and foolish smiles. and solitary walks and candlelight dinners. because why..... because the Reality is harsh. but is it really??i think it is because we hardly give ourselves chances to be good. to feel good. to realize and know and understand that there still exists GOODNESS in this world. so when a Good guy comes along... you keep wondering..."is he actually this good?".... or...."is he actually this sincere?"...or..."there exists such a 'bollywood' hero?". no no.. dun laugh or smirk. i am serious. good guys exist. and so do good women. i have great friends coming to me and say tt people dun believe in their goodness. and yes. i am one of those people who can tend to be skeptical too. but slowly... i m giving the World a chance. something...which i have not done for a long time...
