Today’s events have allowed me to view certain things in perspective.
Let us all begin with the end in mind.
It is only the end that matters most.
When you are president, your 9 months of good performance does not matter. If you screw up the last month of your tenure.
When you are passionate regarding something, and suddenly during crunch time, your good buddies are too occupied to be with you, it is this last moment that you remember despite the previous many other times that they have stood by you.
When you are a student and have aced the school exams pretty well, it is the last piece of examination (PSLE, O-levels, A-levels) that determines your next step.
When you are eating your favourite meal, it is the last few grains of rice or the splats of the tasty sauce on your plate, that give you the highest level of gustatory satisfaction.
When you are watching a movie, it is the end that we always look forward to. Stories with feeble endings usually turn us off.
When you meet your loved one for a much anticipated date, it the usually the last few moments of gazing into each other’s eyes and the last few softly-whispered words that you would bring to sleep and remember most. It is hardly the dinner, or the movie or the shopping spree.
When you are a human being who has been doing good all your life, it is the last action that you do, that would determine whether you would immediately go to heaven or hell.
Let us all begin with the end in mind.
And…sesat di hujung jalan, kembali ke pangkal jalan. This is the solution to avoid bad endings.
